“This is your second strike, Julie. One more strike this week and you're fired. You have been one of the best workers I have ever had and if this keeps reoccurring, you're fired. I would hate to loose you.” Sebastian my boss spoke.

“Sorry Sebastian, it won’t happen again. I have
just been so out of it, tomorrow will be 13thirteen years.”

With a tear coming from my eye
s, Sebastian hugs me before, I exit his office and enter mine. Walking fast to not show the left side of my face, ruined. I sat down at my officdesk and began working. I have been such a disaster lately. I’ve been late to work two days in a row, I have been so scared to sleep lately, is it possible to see dead people? I wondered to myself. I feel like she is there.

As the clock hits 5pm, I gather my briefcase and hand bag to exit the building. Pacing fast to get out of the building, I reach the lift and hit
the button for the ground floor. I gather my phone to message John and the kids, to let them know I’m leaving work.

‘Leaving work, have the table set and I will see you soon. XO’

FLASHBACK:

June 19th
, 2003

Walking your own child into a boarding home, is probably the worst thing
s as a mother you could do. I was walking my own daughter to another home, away from her mother, away from her father.

Today was the worst day of my life.

Spencer was my daughter,
but she couldn't stay with me anymore. My husband and I are only young. We couldn’t raise a child.

Red and blood shot eyes. Yawning, while rubbing my eyes. I am so cranky that
, my head crashes against the cotton pillow.

END OF FLASHBACK

I then realise I was dreaming.

Proceeding to my car, keys in my right and phone in the left. I open my car to drive home.

Thinking back to that flashback, while driving on a busy highway and crying, is not the best thing to do. Spencer was young, so was my husband and I was too.

I arrive home, exiting out of my car. I turn around
toand I think that someone is behind me. I turn and it is justonly my car. No one there.

The next morning, the house is quiet. I look at my phone. 7:37am.

“OH MY GOD” I scream.

Work is at 8. This is my last chance. I rush to get ready. Hustling and
Hhustling, I am surprised to be done by 7:48. I race to my car.

A young girl. What is she doing?

The young girl standing in front of my car with brown locks, a white t
-shirt and blue jeans. The birthmark on the left side of her arm, looks familiar. Her hazel eyes start to shed downfill with and shed tears.

“Are you lost?” I ask, as she
beginstar tso shopeddingly teacrsy.

“Oh honey, have you lost your parents?” I ask.

“They abandoned me a long time ago.”

The birthmark, ‘they abandoned me a long time ago.’ I look up and I know who this young girl is.

“That’s right, hello Mummy.”
