I CPS investigator, Sharrai Benavides, spoke with, Alexis Alcock, friend of the family today. Ms. Alcock stated that she has known Ms. Gatlin since middle school. Ms. Alcock says that she considers Ms. Gatlin to be a wonderful mother to her children. She last saw the family on June 19, 2016, and stated that the children appeared happy and healthy. She stated the children were wearing new clothes and had their hair combed nicely. She also stated that she believes the children have enough food to eat in the home. Ms. Alcock has never noticed any marks or bruises on the children that were not accidental. She also stated that she does not believe anyone in the home uses drugs or alcohol. If she suspected abuse or neglect, she would contact CPS or law enforcement.
