Leadership is the ability of one to organize or lead a group of people. A leader should be respectful,; Aa leader should know what he/she is leading the group for. My favorite Lleadership quote is by Chris Hadfield, who staed that “Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It's about keeping your team focused on a goal and motivated to do their best to achieve it, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter. It is about laying the groundwork for others' success, and then standing back and letting them shine.” Being a leader does n’ot involve the leader doing all the work and getting all the credit,; instead, the leader helps everyone to achieve a common goal.
I view myself as a leader due to the fact that I, throughout my life because, I have propelled myself to reach for progress and success. For example, at work, as a salesperson you have to keep the store presentable for customers. I was a leader because there were multiple new members of my team that did not know what to do. Instead of making myself greater and making my manager see that I’ am a hard worker and I can getcarry stoufft dwonerk alone…, I taught the team members how to get taccomplisheir daily objectives accomplished. I taught them how to fold, hang, and organize properly. As Hadfield said, “It is about laying the groundwork for others’ success, and then standing back and letting them shine.”.
Growing up, my parents taught me numerous qualities in life that will help me succeed. Even though they always want me to succeed, they always say that you must help others on your way to success. Selfishness is never the key to success. My parents always saitold me to be a Lleader and never a follower, dto n’ot always try to copy someone else's’ successes, but to instead create myour own success. I am saying tThis is emphasizeds why leadership is my highest quality, and my highest motivation to continue my journey in life. I will havebring this same mentality of success and leadership into Denver University.
