One of my ethical dilemmas was a situation at thea main street right next to the ammunition. I responded to a 911 call about an accident between a green taxi and a black sultedan. When I arrived at the scene I saw the remains of a head-on collision between both cars. The black sultedan was oin the incorrect lane of travel and hit the green taxi,; all involved people were injured. After threatment FDby the fire department, I took the statements and found out, that the driver of the black sultedan driver was in a hurry to get a foreign male to the All Saints General Hospital because he was badly injured. DuriIng his effort to safve thea life, he made a mistake and took the incorrect lane of travel to bego faster because the correct lane was full. After my investigation, it was very difficult for me to arrest the driver of the black sultedan driver for vehicular endangerment because he had tried to safve a life, had tried to do something right and be a sGood Samaritan. He made a mistake during a hectic situation. Personally, I didn't want to arrest him but on the otherad hmand he did a very dangerous mistake which lead to injuries fromr the taxi driver. He endangered another life to safve a life. It was a conflict in my mind, an ethical dilemma but atin the end, I am a police officer and represent the law. So I arrested the person for vehicular endangerment even though I didn't want to do it. That's the job,. wWe don't decide what is happening with the person at the end, we are following the law and our procedures at anevery time and in every situation.
