This is athe story of a girl named Drema who is a Cchild whoand lives in the time of World War 2II. Her Ddad had died in the coal mines and her Mmom went to build airplanes in New York, so she lives with her Grandma and Grandpa. Her Grandpa is a Pentecostal Preacher who started Cales Church. She has a sister named Vonnie and a Ddeaf brother named Hursey. This book is written in stories, so I am going to sum up a few of those.


One day, the Ggypsies visited their town, and one of the Ggypsies went to her school and Drema befriended her. The Ggypsy girl wa's named was Carlotta. She invited Drema to the Ggypsy camp and Drema really wanted to go but wasn't allowed to go to the place. wheDre the camp was. So sthen told her Grandma that she was going off to another Ffriend's house but instead she went with Carlotta to the Ggypsy camp. Drema thought she was the only liar in the family because her Grandma and Grandpa were so against it. They eate dinner and danced together and she enjoyed it but she was still worried about lying.
