Overview of breast cancer
The uncontrollable cell growth which leads to a creation of lump of tissue is known as the tumor. TWhen the abnormally growing cells are normal then that tumor is termed as a benign or non –cancerous tumor. However, if the functionality of the abnormally growing cells also goes aboutside of the normally range, then this type of tumor is termed as cancerous or malignant.
The origin site is the name factor behind the type of cancer. Breast cancer is named so because breast tissue is the origin site for it. Similar to another type of cancers, this category of cancer can also grow and penetrate into the nearby breast tissues. A process namelyd metastasis can outspread breast cancer to other body organs.
Types of Breast Cancer
DCIS – Ductal carcinoma or it can be called as a precancerous stage that is stage 0. The cancer is confined to its origin site – this is the meaning of in situ. This is the case where only milk ducts are affected by the breast cancer. If it is not diagnosed and treated then ductal carcinoma may root into invasive cancer. However, it can be cured.
