Georgia Williams (1887-1986) iswas born in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin. When she was only seventeen, she begunbegan her formal training at the Art Institute of Chicago. Two years later, she went to New York City to continue her study of art and she remained in the city for several years. During the winters fromFrom 1912 to 1918, she teachedtaught school in Texas during the winter. WasShe was drawn to its dramatic landscape and enormous skies.
