Once I and my husband and I finished our studies, we had to return to Jordan, as we were sponsored by our government. As soon as we got back, we applied under the Canadian experience program to become permanent residents of Canada. In July, 2016, we landed in Ottawa and then moved to Montreal. Before our arrival to Canada, I repeatedly wrote to the EMSB asking them if it was possible for Mohammad (grade 9) and Ibrahim (grade 5) to attend the EMSB, as they do not speak or comprehend French. Unfortunately, the only answer I received was "billBill 101" and that it was impossible for PRs to enroll in the EMSB. The alternative solution was enrolling them into private schools, which areis difficult due to itstheir fees.
