As the Second World War turned into the Cold War, the third world became the venue of the global population control experiments, mostly conducted or funded by the US-based institutions like United Nations Population Fund, World Health Organization, Population Council, Rockefeller and Ford Foundations, with the appealing “Keynesian welfare state ideologies”ideologies.” In that respect, the year 1952 represents threethree major global events occurred in the year 1952; the formation of two pioneering global family planning institutions; International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF) and Population Council (PC) established by the Rockefeller Foundation, of which have started providing monetary, medical and scientific assistance on family planning programs in many developing countries, including Turkey. Moreover, the first national family planning program was accepted by India in the same year, followed by many other developing countries including Turkey, with the legalization of the family planning in 1965.
