Thank you for offering me the position and being tasked to help Valkyrie Pharmaceutics get off the ground. I’m very excited about the opportunity, and I feel confidentconfident that I can make a significant contribution in the short and long term.
Regarding the offer itself, I wantedwant to address a couple of points. In similar situations in the past, it has been my experience that a sign-on bonus and temporary housing and or relocation is among new hire benefits. I realize this is an exciting start-upstartup on a different scale, but I still find that a modest stipend and temporary housing for 60 days are key to my successful launch. I sincerely would not breachbroach this topic unless it werewas a significant variable.
I’m ready to hit the ground running and this would help me focus on our work. Also, whilst I realize I am a contractor in the beginning, I fully intend on growingto grow with Valkyrie and eventually transitioning to a full time, permanent position.
A potential solution for temporary housing may be a co-living space. There is a company out of Brooklyn, with which I’m familiar, whothat has a few new properties in Los Angeles. This situation is for folks relocating to a new area in the tech, creative, or life sciences fields (mostly start-ups)startups). The first one, listed below, begins at $1,550/month and is furnished.
1. *Common*- Melrose: www.common.com/los-angeles/ 2. *Node*: www.node-living.com/
Thank you both for your consideration. In closing, please know my enthusiasm forthat I am enthusiastic regarding this unique opportunity to work with you, and that it’s awkward for me to be in a position of need when I’ve been graciously extended an offer. This would be a tremendous help.
Best,
Christopher
