I was very surprised that social work appeared as one of my career choices. I feel a huge reason for this is because I have a big heart and I deeply care for people and. I’m willing to help them out in anyway possible no matter what it takes. You have the opportunity to touch so many lives and change lives and understand the way some child or parent may look at a certain situation that could better them in the long run. I’m not as interested in social work because of feelings, and I don’t want feelings clouding my judgment when making decisions about other peoplepeople's lives, especially when it affects a child. Also, it’s a very stressful and time consumingtime-consuming job;. I have family members thatwho have worked in that field, and I know first thing infirsthand how it can put a strain on you and drain you emotionally and physically, from being on call on the weekends and being available to someone from 48 to 72 hours no matter whether it's day or night can get aggravating quickly. I’ve have heardheard of people having to drive 50 or more miles at midnight because of a child getting in trouble and needing to be picked up. That also takes away from time I’m able to spend with my daughter.
