If online dating has become too tedious for you, why not rank a rabbit instead?

Sherwood University scientists have created an "adorability" app that askasks people to rate rabbits' appearances and identify which aspects they find the most appealing, from expressive eyes to fluffy fur.

Professor John Harvey said: "There's a possibility that people are selecting rabbits based on celebrities' pets or they're emphasising particular features such as large eyes and cute ears. Neither of these has any impact on how well such animals perform as pets, though."

"It would be interesting if we discovered that people don't actually like the most distorted features, as that could imply there areis a difference between what the public actually desire and the sorts of rabbits that are being reared."
