It’s a cold Monday morning. Snow began falling heavily on the mountain valley, and detective Lara Sharp was standing next to the dead body. The cool mountain air made her shiver. She took a few photos of the crime scene as evidence. Lara and her assistant Niall Bright had absolutely no idea what could’ve happened. The body was covered with blood-red snow. There weren’t any footprints in the snow around the body, just their own. According to her ID, which they found in her leather wallet, her name was Cherry Lang. This murder was precisely planned and done by someone who knowsknew exactly what he’she was doing.

A few days later, an older man came into Lara’s office.
‘I confess to the murder of Cherry Lang’ he muttered very quietly.
‘What?’ Lara couldn’t believe him.
‘I killed her with a sharp piece of a broken mirror.’ he said.
‘Okay, okay’ Lara glanced at him. He looked scared and desperate.
She took him for interrogation, where he explained why and how he did it.
Assistant Niall Bright was certain that the man
iswas responsible for the murder.
The old man was convicted and sentenced to imprisonment for life.

Something seemed off to Lara, and she spent hours thinking about this case. She looked back at
theher photos she took atfrom the crime scene, and she noticed that they wereher footprints of her and of her assistantassistant's, even though, he came therearrived after she took those photos. Everything made sense to her, especially the part about how Niall was so sure that the man iswas the murderer. Lara toldshared her thoughts about her assistant towith other police officers, and they. They did further investigation and found the piece of a broken mirror in his backpack, and also they found a letter, where he blackmailed the old man to confess to thea crime he didn’t commit.
