Some people say that Michael Jordan was the greatgreatest basketball player of all
time. He played professional basketball for forteenfourteen years, during which time he showed
what a great game basketball can be. Jordan iswas born on February 17, 1963, in
Brooklyn, New York.
It is strange that, although he was talented in many sportsports at a very young age, he did
not play basketball untilluntil high school. In 1979, Jordan grew taller and startstarted playing
basketball more. At the University of North Carolina, he played on the team. In 1984,
he had to decide whether to stay in college or become a professional basketball
player. He choosechose basketball and was drafted by the Chicago Bulls. However, in
October 29, 1985, he broke his foot and could notno longer play. He finished college while his
foot healed.
After college., Jordan returned to basketball stronger than ever. After the 1988
season, he was voted Most Valuable Player. In 1990, he got married.
