#THE AFRICAN CHILD

Every day is a new day for the African child
A child who is mostly raised in fear and aggressive acts
A child who is hardly able to speak up for himhimself or herself
The African child, a hope of blessings
Yet less privileged to the right of education

The child who norknows of nothing, only countless chores
School books dirty
Uniform rough
No proper sandals
No bicycle for a ride
He is beaten to read a foreign language
A language of no onewhere no-one knows it'sits origin

The African child would be great
If taught in Fulani, Mandinka, Jola
Wollof, Sererr, Manjako and serahullehSerahulleh
But no, because we are controlled.
And we are told

The African Childchild hears no tales
No hide and seek
The beauty of norms and our customs are all vanishing
Tears all over my cheek
The liberty of the African child is seized

And no oneno-one to unlock the gates of hope.
It is sad a child who sees no beauty of freedom
My heart diedies seeing the African child paddling in so many huddlespuddles
Seeing thousands of them drowning in the Mediterranean Sea
A child whose hope was to fetched firewoodsfetch firewood

A child whose hope was to crossedcross mangroves for better sea foodsseafood
Is now sacrificing his or her life for foreign civilization
A Worldworld which would be easy to develop
But leaders of today never see the pain of the African child
The child sees no pain in his scars

Torments upon torments.
But the child managemanages to stay comfortablycomfortable
Tears running on the African childchild's cheek like raindrops
Raindrops in the Savannah areasavannah areas
A heart brighter than the sunsun's rays
A feeling of survival like a sunflower
The child battlebattles with every croniesproblem of life
A blessing from our Lord to one day shower every African child
